Howard Hill Longbowmen Patch

Years ago, there was a patch offered by Howard Hill Archery. It was an image of a longbowman at full draw. Eventually, it was dropped in favor of a new patch that featured an elephant, commemorating Howard's killing of an elephant with a longbow. Eventually, this patch also was dropped by Howard Hill Archery when the company that made them went out of business and they were unable to obtain a satisfactory image from a new company. There have been no patches available for some years. I obtained permission from Howard Hill Archery to work with an emblem company to have a new patch created, to be used for members of the Howard Hill Longbowmen internet group. We chose to duplicate the oldest patch. I made a real effort to locate one of these original patches, but they had been discontinued so long ago that we were unable to do so. I worked with the emblem company, Stadri Emblems, to create the new one.

Here are pictues of the old emblem, and of the new one:

These new patches are available to members of the group (see "Subscribing to the Howard Hill Longbowmen email List" ). They are $5, postage included. Orders should be sent to:

At the same time I was working with the Stadri company to make our patch available, I was asked by Craig Ekin at Howard Hill Archery to develop a new master for the old HH Archery elelphant patch, so that it, too, would be available again. Through the Stadri company, I did this. Here are pictures of the old elephant patch and the artwork for the new one. (At this time I do not have an example of the actual new patch available... should have one soon.)

This was a fun project and now these colorful patches are again available. Here is a picture of the Longbowmen patch I put on a hat. They're kind of large for hat application, but what the heck, I've got a big head...
